Saamis Aboriginal Employment and Training Association is contracted by Community Futures Treaty Seven and Métis Nation of Alberta to provide career counseling service, Action Plan support and assistance in accessing funding for various training programs. For individuals who are unemployed, employment threatened and/or under employed Saamis Employment can assist you in accessing funding for the following programs:
Wage Subsidies & Internship:
This program is designed to assist individuals who require work experience to enhance their education and/or to secure employment. Employers who are willing to provide on-the-job training with the intent to hire upon completion may apply for a wage subsidy.
This program is designed for individuals who require training to secure employment. Applicants approved for funding may be eligible to receive financial assistance for tuition, fees, books and a monthly living allowance. Funding is based on Program Criteria and Eligibility.
- Post Secondary Education (1 year Certificate Program / Last year of Diploma or Degree)
- Vocational Training
- Apprenticeship Training
Youth Programs (ages 16 to 30):
Summer Student Employment Programs are designed to assist youth who are students in finding summer work through wage subsidies to employers. Employers may qualify for up to a 50% subsidy for a maximum of 16 weeks.
