Enhanced Education Skills For the Workplace/Adult Basic Education

Saamis Aboriginal Employment is pleased to work with the Lethbridge College to deliver a twenty six week (26) Enhanced Education Skills For the Workplace/Adult Basic Education Program. This program will allow individuals to upgrade their academic standing and provide an opportunity to complete their GED.  Included in the program are workplace essential skills training in communication, computer use, reading, numeracy and document use.  This unique program will also include components in team building, motivation and personal growth.  Students in the program will also receive any safety tickets necessary in their occupation of choice. 

Program Overview:

  •  Workplace Essential Skills:  Communication, Reading, Numeracy, Document Use, Writing and 
  •  Computers Use:  understanding windows, word processing, editing documents and text, working 
  •  GED Preparation & Testing (Review and/or upgrade your Math, English, Social, Science)
  •  Workplace culture, conflict resolution, communication and listening skills.
  •  Motivation & Life Skills
  •  Career, Personal Health & Well-Being
  •  Employment Readiness and Labour Standards (Know your rights and responsibilities) 

Industrial Safety Training:

Note:  Only the safety tickets relevant to the client’s long term career goal will be provided

  •  Standard First Aid/CPR
  •  Ground Disturbance Live
  •  Fall Protection
  •  H2S Alive
  •  Confined Space Entry
  •  Food Safe
  •  Forklift
  •  CST (Construction Safety Training)
  •  PST (Petroleum Safety Training)

Continues Learning with images, budgeting using excel, basic research and managing online data.

**PST includes WHMIS Certification through PITS
